Religious schema and tolerance towards alienated groups in Indonesia

National discourses that are acceptable by the alienated groups determine level of public tolerance towards those groups. This study thus examined relationships between religious schema and two in Indonesia, namely, atheists believers indigenous faiths. Additionally, explored differences these across university cohorts encompassing discrete social climates curricula. cross-sectional involved several universities with differing demographic makeup. The analysis results revealed characteristics evaluated target group determined significance associations dimensions tolerance. Moreover, students homogeneous educational environments tended to exhibit low levels highlighted importance scrutinising functions intergroup exposure dialogues improving understanding, acceptance, within a plural society.
